What are omega 3 oils?
Omega -3 fatty acids, which are found abundantly in fish oil, exert pleiotropic cardiometabolic effects with a diverse range of actions. The results of previous studies raised a lot of interest in the role of fish oil and omega -3 fatty acids in primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Humans cannot manufacture omega 3 and omega 6 oils, which have so much function on cells and cell biology, so much that they are considered ‘essential fatty acids’. They must be included in the diet on a daily basis.
The most common sources for these fatty acids are marine animals —mostly tuna, sardines, mackerel and salmon; and vegetables like linseed oil and flaxseed. Marine omega 3 is considered to be more potent.

As an anti inflammatory agent
Omega -3 fatty acids reduce the content of arachidonic acid (AA) in membrane phospholipids in platelets, endothelial cells, and inflammatory cells with a resultant reduced production of AA - derived pro -in flammatory mediators, includingprostaglandin (PG)-E2, thromboxane (TX)-B2, leucotriene (LT) -B4, 5 -HETE, and LT -E4.

Inhibition of platelet aggregation through inhibition of TXA2 synthesis in the platelets.
Triglyceride lowering effects
Triglyceride lowering effects, primarily through reduction of vLDL secretion and increasing mitochondrial oxidation of fatty acids.

Dosing and administration
Oceanhearts Omega 3 oil is a natural food supplement. The recommended doses considered in most trials are in the range of 1- 2 g daily, divided dosages.
